Loving the small details and capturing everything that interests you in York. Great stuff. I hope you will go back to the Minster and look at the carvings especially in the Chapter House. I see those medieval buildings as an expression of ordinary people's faith as it was their skills and courage that built them not some famous man. The carvings are very witty and naughty. I see there is also a glaziers studio associated with the Minster - could be interesting. Tilly certainly has a mean eye in the photo but I think our Asher could outdo her in the evils stakes.
Thanks Marion. The one thing that tickled me most when I first visited the Minster in 1980 was a tiny stained glass bird and spider. You've probably seen it - they have postcards. I'll see if I can post a picture because all the years since it has given me pleasure.
I am house swapping - a Kiwi in York for just under three months. The swap is an opportunity to be a resident in, rather than just pass through, Yorkshire and the blog is an opportunity to record and reflect on that residency.
I'd love to hear from you - observations, thoughts, ramblings...
